    A: The first step for front parking brake cable servicing and repair requires battery cable disconnection. Set the vehicle in neutral position on the hoist before untightening the parking brake cable tension. The instrument panel steering column cover requires two screws for removal but the bulkhead connector requires only one bolt which needs to be loosened before disconnecting it afterward the bolt should be tightened to 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.). Initiate the service of the front parking brake cable by first disconnecting the parking brake switch electrical connector after unscrewing the bolts from the release handle bracket. Disconnect the wiring harness bracket screw before placing the harness together with the bracket in a separate location. Disassemble the parking brake control by removing its three bolts yet tighten them to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) strength when reinstalling. Set the carpet to one side while paying attention to the fact that the parking brake control take-up spool tab needs to be bent to allow cable removal. Disconnect both cables at the parking brake control before removing the conduit from its connection to the control and removing the cable from the bracket. After the installation follows the steps in reverse order for the removal procedure and check the parking brake system to ensure proper functioning.
