    A: Beginning service of the right-hand exhaust manifold requires a vehicle in neutral position on a hoist. The first step involves taking off the right-hand inner fenderwell together with the right-hand engine support insulator. First remove the two bolts securing the exhaust manifold heat shield then detach the eight exhaust manifold nuts and studs that also unfastens the manifold from the engine. The installation requires discarding both exhaust manifold nuts and studs. The cleaning process requires the exclusion of metal scrapers and wire brushes because these tools create leak-causing scratches and gouges; instead use a plastic scraper while following metal surface prep procedures provided in the packaging instructions. Check the exhaust manifold for damages after you remove the old exhaust manifold gaskets to reuse them. The installation process requires new exhaust manifold gaskets and studs and proper positioning of the two gaskets and exhaust manifold before installing the eight studs and tightening them to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Begin securing the exhaust manifold by installing new nuts one by one then tightening them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) based on the technical sequence. The exhaust manifold heat shield requires replacement by reinstalling two bolts which should be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
