2007 Ford Expedition Water Pump Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair the Water Pump on 2007 Ford Expedition?
A: Start the coolant pump servicing process by removing all fluid from the engine cooling system. After fan removal tighten the four coolant pump pulley bolts to 25 Nm before reattaching them according to the torque specification. The clockwise rotation of the belt tensioner lets the accessory drive belt disconnect from the coolant pump pulley before removing the four coolant pump pulley bolts to detach the pulley. Take out the coolant pump using its four holding bolts and set aside the O-ring seal. Forward the removal steps after inspecting the mating surfaces by cleaning them properly with metal surface prep according to the packaging directions. Place a brand new O-ring seal on the installation site while having applied clean engine coolant for its lubrication. Never tighten the coolant pump beyond 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) during the installation phase.
