How to service and repair the left-hand exhaust manifold on 2007 Ford F-150?

A proper left-hand exhaust manifold service requires the vehicle to be in neutral gear while on a hoist before starting. The service begins by removing both the bolt and its attached oil level indicator and tube followed by disconnecting the left-hand heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector. Disassemble the dual converter Y-pipe by unscrewing the two nuts and then detach the two nuts securing the engine lifting eye. Remove the six nuts and the left-hand exhaust manifold together with the gasket before discarding all three components. Transcribe the position of the two extended studs before discarding all six exhaust manifold stud fasteners from the left-hand side. Before adding six new left-hand exhaust manifold studs to the mating surfaces, check for flatness on the left-hand exhaust manifold gasket while placing the two long studs at their original positions. Fasten the studs with 12 Nm of torque which equals 9 ft. lbs. Position the left-hand exhaust manifold along with its new gasket and install six new nuts following the specified tightness sequence to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Fasten the engine lifting eye nuts by applying 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) torque. Fasten the dual converter Y-pipe to its position by tightening two nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Reconnect the HO2S electrical connector before applying clean engine oil to the oil level indicator tube for installing a new O-ring seal on its tube. Position the oil level indicator along with its tube before installing the bolt which needs to be tightened to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
