2007 Ford Fusion Camshaft Position Sensor Parts Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2007 Ford Fusion?
A: You must disconnect the wiring harness along with its retainer from the RH valve cover stud before placing them apart. First detach the nut along with the radio frequency interference capacitor which is currently mounted at the RH valve cover stud before setting them aside. Follow the installation procedure by fastening the nut to 6 Nm (53 lb-in) torque. The service process requires first removing the CMP bolt and disconnecting the CMP electrical connector for both sensors. The installation requires tightening this bolt to 10 Nm torque (89 lb-in torque). The CMP O-ring seal needs engine oil lubrication during installation after following the reverse removal order.
