Mount a suitable jack underneath the trailing arm before starting work. It is essential to refrain from completely tightening the shock absorber lower nut unless the suspension reaches its bushing fastener tightening position. Fasten a new shock absorber lower bolt and flag nut by using torque to 90 Nm (66 ft. lbs.) while the suspension rests at the designated position. To install front wheel drive (FWD) vehicles users need to discard the upper arm outboard bolt and apply 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) torque during the procedure when the suspension reaches identical positioning. While performing AWD work you should remove the upper arm outboard bolt and nut it from serviceable vehicles then install the nut by applying torque at 110 Nm (81 ft. lbs.) when the suspension reaches the bushing fastener tightening position. Lower the trailing arm slowly and take out the jack. Set the shock absorber at the correct position to make upper arm removal possible. Tighten the upper arm inboard bolt requiring that the suspension sits at the bushing fastener tightening position. Reposition the upper arm inboard bolt and throw it out before adding the fresh upper arm component. Torque the bolt to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.) while rotating it 90 degrees additional degrees. Raising the suspension with a suitable jack is necessary before tightening any suspension bushing fasteners when the center of the hub matches the fender lip at 395 mm (15.55 inches). After reversing the disassembly steps the installer should check the rear camber and perform adjustments for proper alignment.
