  A: The first step to service the turn signal switch requires disconnecting the battery ground cable. Follow this process to remove the lock cylinder using the ignition key to set it to RUN and pushing the release tab with a punch tool then pulling out the cylinder. The tilt release lever or handle should be removed if it has been installed. Remove the steering column cover by unscrewing its three fasteners and then remove the shrouds from both the upper and lower steering column sections. Detach the multi-function switch electrical connectors after which you should unscrew the two switch retention screws before extracting the switch. To finish the installation you must apply 3Nm (27 inch lbs.) of screw tension to the new multi-function switch before replacing everything in the reverse order of removal.
