Brake backing plate repair and servicing begins by eliminating the rear wheel cylinder and jounce hose bracket bolt before torquing the bolt to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). Press the parking brake cable conduit locking tabs until you can draw the brake cable assembly through the backing plate. After taking off the rear wheel hub you must detach the four backing plate bolts and backing plate before reinstalling all components while tightening the bolts to 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.). The installation process will conclude by reversing the steps of removal.
