After releasing the lower J-strip one can invert the backrest trim cover partially to reveal the armrest-to-backrest bolts for removal. These four armrest-to-backrest bolts and the support plate must be removed in that sequential order. Adjust the horizontal placement of the armrest before securing its bolts with 10 Nm torque and 89 lb-in force. The next step requires separating the armrest and bracket assembly from the backrest before setting them aside correctly while keeping the backrest frame aligned to the location tab of the armrest bracket. Pressing the four pin-type retainers allows you to pull off the armrest trim cover panel from the backrest and proceed to remove the armrest assembly. The remaining portion of broken retainers can be pushed through into the backrest frame until new pin-type retainers get installed before reassembly. You should begin the reinstallation process by first reversing the removal procedure before putting on both the 60 percent rear seat backrest assembly and the rear seat cushion.
