- Q: How to service and repair the rear left (LH) parking brake cable on 2008 Ford Edge?A: Service and maintenance of the rear left (LH) parking brake cable can begin after hoisting the vehicle while keeping it in neutral position. The parking brake cable tension should be reduced by loosening the equalizer adjustment nut before disconnecting the LH parking brake cable from the equalizer mechanism. Detaching the LH parking brake cable from the bracket requires you to press its tabs. The wheel speed sensor bolt on AWD vehicles requires removal so keep the sensor aside while following proper bolt torque procedure of 7 Nm (62 lb-in) when reinstalling. The installation requires disconnecting the parking brake cable from the lever by removing the two bolts attaching it to the support plate. Apply 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque to these bolts during reassembly. The removal procedure for the stabilizer bar link nut requires storing it aside after torquing to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft) for final reattachment.
