How to service and repair the parking brake shoes on 2008 Ford Escape?

In order to maintain the parking brake shoes, take out the rear brake disc, upper return spring, retaining pins and springs. Then remove the lower return spring and adjuster then remove the shoes. To install, follow the procedure in reverse, lubricate contact points, squeeze the shoes and test.
