When removing the rear brake disc shield you must start by detaching the parking brake shoes. Begin by unscrewing all bolts which fasten the brake disc shield into place. Use the perforations on the shield to remove it by cutting through the perforations to separate the shield into two components. New installation of brake disc shields requires that you chop them into two pieces along their perforations. Fix about 2 bolts in each half of the shield before tightening these bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb-in). The final step includes reinstallation of parking brake shoes.
