2008 Ford Ranger Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to Service the Coolant Reservoir for the 3.0L and 4.0L Engines on 2008 Ford Ranger?
A: You should start by removing the air cleaner for servicing the coolant expansion tank of 3.0L or 4.0L engines. The speed control servo must be removed when equipped with one using the servo bolt before positioning the servo to the side but make sure the bolt reaches 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque upon installation. You must begin by detachment of the windshield washer hose and the windshield washer motor electrical connector. Pump out the coolant by unconnecting the overflow hose from the coolant expansion tank into an appropriate receptacle. Follow this step by removing two bolts as well as two nuts from the coolant expansion tank then reinstall those parts with 7 Nm torque (62 lb-inch). To complete the installation process all previously removed steps need to be reversed.
