How to Remove and Replace Front Suspension Coil Springs on 2009 Ford Crown Victoria?

A depowered fire suppression system should be the first step before front suspension coil spring removal or replacement to prevent dangerous injuries. Discard the three shock absorber upper mount nuts instead of removing the shock absorber center nut which might release spring tension. Place the stabilizer bar link then fasten the two replacement nuts where torque specifications specify 55 Nm (41 lb-ft) for the lower nut and 63 Nm (46 lb-ft) for the upper nut. Mount the brake disc before placing the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly which should be fastened using two anchor plate bolts tightened to 160 Nm (118 lb-ft). Secure the wheel and tire before attaching the three nuts that hold the shock absorber upper mount and torque each one to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft). The maintenance worker should tighten the shock absorber lower nut to 235 Nm (173 lb-ft) while the vehicle sits under its own weight on the wheel and tire assemblies.
