Service technicians should use a commercial alcohol-based solvent to clean the clutch pressure plate and flywheel but they must refrain from using petroleum-based cleaning agents and should never put the clutch pressure plate into solvent solutions. Install the clutch disc onto the clutch pressure plate before using an appropriate centralizing tool to maintain clutch alignment. Install the clutch disc and clutch pressure plate on the flywheel with the clutch aligner while you use new clutch pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts that should each receive a star pattern torque of 29 Nm (21 lb-ft). Once the clutch aligner is removed it is necessary to reinstall the transaxle.
