  A: The first step for gearshift cable maintenance requires the vehicle to be set in neutral position and mounted on a hoist. Start by taking out the battery tray followed by unconnecting the gearshift cables from the transaxle through the release button procedure to remove shift cable and selector cable from shift lever and selector lever. The shift cable and selector cable need removal from their bracket retaining points by extracting the abutment sleeve backward. Tighten the exhaust flange to 47 Nm when you reinstall it after disconnecting it from the rubber insulators. First disconnect the central exhaust hanger then lower the exhaust system while supporting it with wire. First remove the gearshift cables from the underbody cable clip before you take out 6 screws to disconnect the heat shield. The performance of the floor console and the rear footwell heating duct must be removed.
