  A: The service and repair of the headlamp dimmer switch begins by disconnecting the ignition switch lock cylinder. Put the key into the ignition switch lock cylinder while turning it to the RUN position. Apply the punch tool to press the release tab on the ignition switch lock cylinder system before pulling out the lock assembly. Take away any applicable tilt release lever or handle from the system. First disconnect the ignition switch lock cylinder then use a punch to release its tab. After that pull it out. Lastly remove the three screws fastening the steering column shroud to free both upper and lower steering column shrouds. First disconnect multifunction switch electrical connectors then remove the two screws which support its installation. The installation of the new multifunction switch requires screw tightening to 3Nm (27lb-in) followed by reverse order reassembly to complete the work.
