2009 Ford Ranger Fog Light Bulb Parts Q&A
Q: How to Service the Fog Light Bulb on 2009 Ford Ranger?
A: Service the fog lamp bulb by turning both headlamp switch and ignition switch OFF. Position the vehicle on a hoist when it is in the neutral gear. First disconnect the electrical connector and then remove the fog lamp bulb by holding its base because it contains compressed gas that could result in injury when touched or broken through envelope contact or impact. The glass envelope must not receive contact from any object and the bulb should stay out of the bulb socket for too long because surface contaminants that settle on the lens and reflector can degrade the bulb performance. Fog lamps must never be turned on after removing their bulb. Installation of the new bulb requires you to perform the steps in the reverse order of removal.
