You should place the vehicle on a hoist with it set to NEUTRAL mode to service the A/C Expansion Valve on Expedition EL and Navigator L. Recycling the refrigerant afterwards untighten the rear fitting nut of the auxiliary evaporator outlet and inlet lines. Replace the gasket seals with new ones before tightening them to 12 Nm (106 lb-in). First disconnect the two A/C Expansion Valve (TXV) bolts followed by the removal of the TXV itself while discarding O-ring seals and installing new ones with 8 Nm (71 lb-in) torque. The installation process requires new O-ring seals and gasket seals along with correct amounts of clean PAG oil for lubricating the refrigerant system before reversing the removal steps. As a final step the technician must evacuate along with leak testing and refrigerant charging of the system.
