Service of the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve begins with disconnecting the battery ground cable to protect personnel since volatile compounds could be dangerous to touch. The EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector should be unclipped from its connection first with the hose. Then detach the quick-connect coupler from the hose-intake manifold junction. Move on to detach the quick connect coupling which connects the vapor tube between the EVAP canister and EVAP canister purge valve and hose assembly. Slide out the EVAP canister purge valve and hose assembly from its bracket. The valve installation process requires you to reverse all steps from removal. The function of the Evaporative Emission System must be tested through a Leak Test following installation.
