How to service and repair the fuel tank unit on Ford Crown Victoria?

Start the fuel tank unit service and repair process by separating the fuel tank. Disconnect the pressure transducer connector through the top rear fuel tank corner and afterward clean its surrounding area before the fuel pump mounting flange. Remove the bolts and fuel pump from the unit by carefully following instructions which will protect both the float arm and filter simultaneously. The technician should get rid of the fuel pump mounting gasket. First wipe the areas of both the fuel pump mounting flange and the fuel tank mounting surface before installing a fresh fuel pump mounting gasket on the mounting flange. Install the fuel pump inside the fuel tank by screwing all bolts before applying a star pattern for tightening them. Finish the procedure by hooking up the pressure transducer connector followed by reinstallation of the fuel tank.
