    Q: How to Service the A/C Accumulator in the HVAC System on Ford E-150?
    A: Service of the suction accumulator in the HVAC system requires refrigerant recovery as well as battery disconnect followed by removing the battery and battery tray which needs bolt removal before reinstallation at 28 Nm (21 lb-ft). The washer reservoir filler tube needs to be set aside after all screws get removed. Use opposite-sided wrenches when disconnecting the evaporator outlet fitting because this prevents the refrigerant line from twisting and discard the O-ring seal while installing the fitting tightly at 39 Nm (29 lb-ft). Users should disconnect the compressor manifold and tube suction fitting by taking out the screw then disconnecting the fitting while removing the O-ring seal and tightening the fitting to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft) and the screw to 2 Nm (18 lb-in) during final installation. The process for vehicles with auxiliary A/C requires removing the screw followed by disconnecting the spring lock coupling which includes discarding O-ring seals. The next step requires disconnecting the A/C cycling switch electrical connector and removing the suction accumulator by using bolt removal while tightening the reinstalled accumulator to 14 Nm (10 lb-ft). Staff should follow the removal steps in reverse order while adding new O-rings and proceeding with clean PAG oil lubrication before performing an evacuation and leak check followed by refrigerant system charging.
