    A: The wiper switch service demands the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) depowering procedure before the repair process can start. The first step consists of placing the ignition key into the release tab and turning the switch to RUN to push and pull out the lock cylinder. Remove any tilt release lever that exists or the handle component. The installation of the new switch requires tightening it to 3 Nm (27 lb-in) after securing all screws that hold the steering column shrouds, multifunction switch, and new switch. Unplug the multifunction switch electric connectors before installing the new switch by following the opposite removal sequence. Finally, repower the SRS.
