How to service and repair the Accelerator Cable and linkage on Ford Escape?

In order to service the throttle cable and throttle linkage, loosen the crankcase ventilation hose first. Move the throttle lever and slide the end of the accelerator cable out; then unclip the cable in the bracket and pedal, without stretching the cable by the housing. Repair with a reversal of the removal process.

Installation: To remove the cable, unbolt the bracket and disconnect it to the air cleaner and the dash panel.
