In order to fix the A/C Expansion Valve on Expedition and Navigator models, you have to recover the refrigerant, take off the right quarter trim panel, and disconnect the valve fitting. Take out the valve and get rid of O-rings. Install new O-rings, lubricated with PAG, and fill the refrigerant system.

To fix A/C Expansion Valve, reclaim the refrigerant, take off the manifold and bracket bolt and unconnect the wire harness. Unscrew the fitting and inlet line, getting rid of old seals. Take out the valve and replace it with a new one using new seals, lubricate it using PAG oil then refill the system.
