How to service and repair the ride height sensors on Ford Expedition?

Service or repair of ride height sensors demands zero power to the air suspension by disabling the air suspension switch in the LH quarter trim panel before hoisting or jacking or towing the vehicle since lack of power could generate unexpected air spring inflation or deflation and vehicle shifting which increases personal injury risk. The service starts with placing the vehicle in NEUTRAL position on a hoist before cutting off the sensor arm connection from the vehicle. The installation of front height sensor requires tightening the two sensor nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.) after you discard them. The rear height sensor installation requires discarding sensor nuts and bolts before installation which must be torqued to 15 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). Before proceeding disconnect the sensor electrical connector you must note that height sensors on the right and left side of the vehicle do not match. In conclusion to this procedure, it is necessary to undo the removal steps while calibrating the height sensor.
