How to service the thermostat and thermostat housing on Ford Expedition?

To maintain the thermostat, drain the cooling system, wipe off bolts that hold the thermostat housing and dispose of the O-ring. Wipe the surfaces, screw in a new lubricated O-ring, and tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs. ) and then reverse the process of removal to finish installation.
