Begin service of the CKP sensor by first removing the battery ground cable and Disconnecting the electrical connector and Unfastening the bolt to Extract the sensor. Correct installation of the new CKP sensor demands that it engages the damper because its wear tabs will disappear following several engine revolutions. Avoid placing sensor wiring near the battery cable when routing it. The battery ground cable removal process should be used in reverse to finish the installation of the new components.
