How to service the knock sensor (KS) for the SOHC on Ford Explorer Sport Trac?

You must start the knock sensor (KS) service for the SOHC system by removing the intake manifold. The technician should disconnect the electrical connector from the knock sensor. First remove the bolt which secures the knock sensor and extract the sensor from its position. Before completing knock sensor installation you must first tighten the bolt to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) using standard torque procedures. This action finalizes the installation process.
