Service and repair of the floor shift automatic transmission shift levers requires starting with left side kick panel removal from the floor console. The service starts with lifting the console storage lid cover before removing the console finish panel. The automatic transmission shift lever cable requires disconnection from both components of the automatic transmission shift lever and automatic transmission shift lever cable bracket. First remove the automatic transmission shift lever securing bolts followed by disconnecting its electrical connector until you successfully remove the automatic transmission shift lever from the vehicle. Affix the automatic transmission shift lever assembly inside its console position after positioning it there and tighten the bolts at 12 Nm (9 lb-ft). Attach the electrical connector which operates the automatic transmission shift lever. Install the automatic transmission shift lever cable while checking for successful engagement of locking tabs together with correct snapping of the cable end onto the ball stud. Press the cable into the bracket so that it produces an audible click noise while testing its proper locked position. Connect the automatic transmission shift lever cable to its arm before putting back the console finish panel and the left kick panel.
