The transmission input shaft Pilot Bearing can be assessed for proper alignment by inspecting the Crankshaft for gasoline engines or flywheel for diesel engines while checking for scoring and discoloration and wear and roller damage in needle rollers and any damage to the seal along with lubricant leakage. The presence of problems requires a replacement of the transmission input shaft pilot bearing. Apply Krytox High-Temperature Grease to the transmission input shaft pilot bearing because removing the transmission likely removed bearing lubricant during the process.
