A suitable starting point for shift cable service and repair requires positioning the vehicle in neutral on a hoist. The service on shift cable starts by unscrewing the instrument panel lower finish panel and steering column lower shroud. Manual position (D) on the selector lever after placing it into that selection wants a mechanical authentication. The connection of selector lever cables to the steering column must be completed with retention of secure retainers and connections followed by installation of the steering column lower shroud and screws and instrument panel lower finish panel and selective adjustment of the selector lever cable.
