Mount the vehicle on a hoist system while keeping it in neutral position. After disconnection of the pressure line bracket/pump bolt position it to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft) torque during reinstallation. When installing the pressure line-to-pump fitting users must tighten it to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft). Begin by detaching the line fitting from the steering gear shield before elevating the shield towards the upper part of the lower steering column shaft. Reinstall the fitting by discarding the O-ring seal then tighten it to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft). Before installation reinstall the pressure line to the steering gear fitting with 35 Nm torque (26 lb-ft). Both installation and return procedures require reusing the original O-ring seal on the return hose-to-steering gear fitting while performing the assembly steps in reverse order.
