The procedure begins by discarding four nuts that connect the catalytic converter to the Y-pipe followed by parallel alignment of exhaust flanges before turning the new nuts by equal amounts to a torque of 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Begin by removing two nuts that link Y-pipe to underbody catalytic converter and secure them with new nuts to the same torque value. Replace the damaged Y-pipe to underbody catalytic converter gasket with a new gasket after removing it from its current position.
