How to service the knock sensor (KS) on Ford Focus?

In order to service the knock sensor (KS), the first thing to do is to disconnect the battery ground cable. disassemble the intake manifold to access the knock sensor, then take out the retaining bolt and sensor. To install, reverse the instructions to ensure the new sensor is in place, reconnect the intake manifold and reconnect the battery ground cable.
