Ford Freestar Brake Disc Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the rear brake disc on Ford Freestar?
A: Support the Brake Caliper properly before starting rear brake disc maintenance to prevent its suspension by the flexible hose. Change the two brake caliper anchor plate bolts before setting the brake caliper along with its anchor plate assembly to the side. Next, remove the brake disc. Cleaning operations should be performed on both brake disc and wheel hub before installation through the use of brake parts cleaner. It is essential to protect the wheel studs and Brake Pads from contact with the lubricant so apply only a thin layer of anti-seize to the hub flange surface. Terminate the process by placing the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly into position and securing it with two new bolts that should be tightened to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
