In order to fix the shift cable and bracket, detach the center console and unconnected shift cable to the shift lever and transaxle. When necessary, take off the rear air duct and grommet. Remove the cable by inserting it inside, and reinsert by repeating the process, making sure that the shift lever is on Overdrive.

To fix the shift cable and bracket, take the trim off of the LH lower instrument panel. Unhook the shift cable with the retaining bracket and the lever. Take out the cruise control actuator in the engine compartment and un-connect the shift cable to the manual control lever. Lastly, snake the cable under the dash panel and replace with a new locking clip.
