How to Service and Repair the Power Steering Hose to Fluid Cooler Return on Ford Taurus X?

First service and repair operations on the steering gear to fluid cooler return hose must be conducted on a hoist when the vehicle maintains NEUTRAL position. Follow this procedure to detach the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose by loosening its clamp. First detach the power steering return line bracket from the frame by removing its three bolts before reinstallation that requires torque at 5 Nm (44 lb-inch). New O-ring seals should be installed during power steering line unattachment from the steering gear to avoid future fluid leaks. The clamp plate rotation allows you to unattach the steering gear-to-fluid cooler return hose after removing the power steering line clamp plate bolt. The power steering system filling process will be finished by performing the removal steps in reverse order.
