In order to service the trunk lid lift support, loosen the LH quarter trim panel access cover and unclip support with motor assembly. Take off the retaining nut, threadlock, and tighten to 11 Nm. Take away the mounting bracket nuts, screw to 30 Nm and replace parts to start the power liftgate.

How to service and repair the Trunk Lid Lift Support on Ford Expedition?

In order to fix the power liftgate rod, you need to remove the LH quarter trim panel, un-clip the rod of the motor, remove the cover and retaining nut and apply threadlock before tightening to 11 Nm. Take out the rod-to-bracket bolt, position it back at 30 Nm and repeat the process and restart the liftgate.
