How to service the rear sway bar link on Lincoln LS?

You should start the rear sway bar link service by raising the vehicle on a hoist then taking out the wheel and tire assembly. Use care during nut removal because air tools must be excluded to prevent boot damage yet the first step should be to loosen the nut before engaging the hex holder to prevent the sway bar link ball joint from rotating. Remove the link from the suspension lower arm after disconnecting it with removal of the sway bar link and discarding the nut. Follow the same procedure to remove the protective cap from the sway bar link while also performing the nut removal twice without using air tools and disposing of the nut afterwards. Use fresh nuts during reassembly because the torque-prevailing nuts that hold the sway bar link require replacement and installation should be performed in the opposite order with correct torque specifications.
