How to service the Knock Sensor (KS) on Lincoln MKX?

Service procedures for the Knock Sensor (KS) start with removing of thermostat housing along with lower intake manifold and coolant tube while discarding the O-ring seal. The service for the Knock Sensor (KS) begins with disconnecting its electrical connector followed by bolt removal. During replacement of the new KS users should secure bolts to 20 Nm (177 lb-in) and use clean engine coolant to lubricate the new O-ring seal. Engine and cooling system damage are possible when you combine the different engine coolants used in vehicles manufactured before or after January 19, 2009.
