How to remove and install the Center Console Base on Mercury Grand Marquis?

You should begin by taking off the floor console finish panel and then removing the console storage bin. Unlock both electrical connectors by disconnecting them and the floor console electric connector. Release the locator of the transmission selector lever assembly when the connectors are free. Place the transmission lever assembly out of the way and unscrew four bolts plus the electric connection. Put the transmission selector lever assembly to the side before you take out the two bolts that hold the floor console then move the console itself backward for removal. Follow step-by-step the opposite procedure to install the part.
