How to service and repair the Idle Control Valve on Mercury Grand Marquis?

The first step when servicing or repairing the Idle Control Valve requires disconnecting the ground cable of the battery. First remove the engine appearance cover while also disconnecting the electrical connector from the Idle Control (IAC) valve. The valve operation requires the removal of its hose followed by the removal of the IAC valve. Perform installation tasks by doing the opposite of the removal steps.
