How to service and repair the power steering pump on Mercury Grand Marquis?

The repair process for the power steering pump starts with removing the drive belt before raising the vehicle. Start the service procedure by removing the routing bracket. The electrical connector of the power steering auxiliary actuator needs disconnection from vehicles using the EVO steering system. The first step includes removing the pulley then breaking the hose connections. You should first remove the four bolts which hold the power steering pump in place then extract the pump from its position. When replacing the power steering pump in vehicles that utilize the EVO steering system the power steering auxiliary actuator should be taken off too. Installation requires following the opposite steps of removal while replacing necessary seal rings in the process. Complete system filling procedure and verify the system has no leakage.
