How to service and repair the PCV Valve on Mercury Mariner?

In order to service Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve, put the car on neutral position on a hoist. Take out the PCV valve by first removing the intake manifold and then removing the PCV valve cap with the tabs on the cap and then removing the PCV valve. The reinstitution is just the reverse of the procedures followed during the removation.
