Prior to attending to the Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Valve of both 2.5L and 3.0L engines, one should maintain safety standards by keeping away from smoking, open flames, and personal electronic devices from fuel components because they contain highly flammable fuel mixtures. Service professionals should start their work by removing the
Battery Cable during this procedure. Service and repair of the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve start by disconnecting electrical components from the valve and the fuel vapor tube-to-EVAP canister purge valve quick connect coupling. Unfasten the two bolts which maintain the position of the EVAP canister purge valve. Installation of the new valve requires a 6 Nm torque setting on the bolts followed by the backward performance of the removal process. The Evaporative Emission System Leak Test should be performed post-installation to verify correct system operation.
