The process of servicing the thermostat housing on a 2.3L engine should start with vehicle hoisting in neutral gear position. You should drain the cooling system before you begin by taking off the accessory drive belt. The service requires disconnecting both heater hose and lower radiator hose at the thermostat housing position. Secure the new housing with 10 Nm torque at installation after removing all three bolts that hold the thermostat housing and gasket. During reinstallation reverse all the removal steps but first inspect and clean the gasket and replace it if needed. The service process ends upon filling and bleeding the cooling system system.
