Mercury Mountaineer Blend Door Actuator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service the LH temperature blend door actuator on Mercury Mountaineer?
    A:
Service of the LH temperature blend door actuator begins by removing the instrument panel first. The first step involves removing the LH floor duct by unfastening its two retaining screws. Screw removal of three fasteners will reveal the LH temperature blend door actuator before removing its electrical connector. You must remove the LH temperature blend door actuator as the last step. The installation process of the new actuator follows the opposite sequence of removal procedures.
  • Q: How to service and repair the right-hand temperature blend door actuator for the Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) on Mercury Mountaineer?
    A:
Before servicing or repairing the right-hand temperature blend door actuator of the Dual Automatic Temperature Control (DATC) system it is necessary to deactivate the supplemental restraint system. Start by removing trim panels from both right-hand and left-hand A-pillar and then continues with the cowl panel grille. When removing the instrument panel defroster grille move the sunload sensor electrical connector only enough to reach it without damaging the connector. The instrument panel bolt needs removal from outside the vehicle yet should remain partially in place for moving the right-hand side of the panel beyond its dash panel position. Support the instrument panel correctly to protect wiring components from harm while avoiding powerful movements of the panel. Instal threaded rods as equivalent supports with matching dimensions and thread measurement to replace the support bolts which secure the instrument panel. Start by removing support bolts from the instrument panel after correct positioning of the equipment. Then use the support bolts to extract the instrument panel from its installed position near the dash panel. The installation of the actuator requires performing the opposite steps to removal.
