How to service the auxiliary evaporator core on Mercury Mountaineer?

Service of the auxiliary evaporator core starts with heater core and housing removal. First disconnect the thermostatic expansion value inlet fitting then discard its O-ring seal before tightening it at 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) upon fitting. You should disconnect the auxiliary evaporator outlet fitting before throwing away the O-ring seals. Before uninstalling the auxiliary evaporator core cover remove its six screws keeping the wire harness safe to one side. Installation of the auxiliary evaporator core demands the same reverse order of removal steps with fresh O-ring seals and correct application of clean PAG oil to the refrigerant system. The replacement of the suction accumulator requires new installation only in cases where contamination exists from a failed compressor or the suction accumulator shows signs of damage.
