How to service and repair the blower motor resistor on Mercury Sable?

In order to repair the blower motor resistor, disconnect electrical connectors by removing the blower motor speed control. Unscrew the mounting screws and change the old resistor with a new one and vice versa. Make sure everything is connected, screws have been tightened and test the blower motor.
